PM Modi's Visit to Madhya Pradesh: New Projects and Health Campaigns for a Progressive India
On 17th September 2025, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi visited Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, to lay the foundation stone and inaugurate several transformative development projects. His address at the event emphasized India's strong focus on empowering women, boosting the local economy, and improving health systems across the country.
The visit marked the birth anniversary of Lord Vishwakarma, the divine architect of creation, and the Prime Minister paid his respects to the revered Goddess of Knowledge, Vagdevi. On this auspicious day, PM Modi also launched several impactful health and development initiatives aimed at uplifting communities, especially women and tribal populations.
Key Highlights of the Prime Minister's Visit:
1. Launch of 'Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar' Campaign:
Prime Minister Modi launched the 'Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar' (Healthy Woman, Empowered Family) campaign to promote women's health and well-being across India. The campaign includes free health screenings for women, covering essential conditions like blood pressure, diabetes, anaemia, tuberculosis, and cancer. These screenings will be available at over 100,000 health camps across the nation. Women will also benefit from free medicines and testing, with further treatment supported by the Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
2. Hyderabad Liberation Day: A Tribute to National Unity
PM Modi commemorated 17th September as Hyderabad Liberation Day, recalling the bravery and iron resolve of the Indian Army in liberating Hyderabad from foreign rule. He emphasized the importance of national unity and the sacrifices made by freedom fighters like Maharaja Bhoj and Maharshi Dadhichi.
3. PM Vishwakarma Yojana: Empowering Traditional Artisans
The Prime Minister highlighted the success of the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, which supports artisans like carpenters, blacksmiths, and potters by providing skill training, modern tools, and access to loans. This initiative has already benefited over 30 lakh artisans across India and aims to transform their craftsmanship into a powerful driver of economic growth.
4. Textile Park for Economic Growth
To boost India's textile industry, PM Modi laid the foundation for India's largest integrated textile park in Dhar. This industrial park will create three lakh new job opportunities and provide farmers with better prices for their cotton produce. It will also help streamline the textile value chain, from raw material to exports, driving both local and global market growth.
5. Sickle Cell Anaemia Screening: A Focus on Tribal Health
In a bid to combat sickle cell anaemia, which disproportionately affects tribal communities, PM Modi launched a national mission that has already distributed over one crore screening cards. The screening program helps identify early-stage sickle cell cases, offering treatment and care to affected individuals.
Additional Key Developments:
- PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana: Continuing the free ration scheme that was launched during the pandemic, PM Modi affirmed that the government is committed to ensuring food security for all, especially women and children.
- Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana: Direct benefits under the scheme were transferred to the bank accounts of over 15 lakh pregnant women across the country, empowering them with financial support.
- PM MITRA Park in Dhar: The Prime Minister’s vision for the textile industry, encapsulated in the 5F model (Farm to Fibre, Fibre to Factory, Factory to Fashion, Fashion to Foreign), will help Indian textiles compete globally, generate employment, and boost local economies.
Women’s Health and Empowerment: A Top Priority
PM Modi also launched the 8th National Nutrition Month to address the nutritional needs of mothers and children, ensuring better health outcomes. He urged all women to participate in health camps to get free screenings for critical health conditions.
Under his leadership, initiatives like the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Ujjwala Yojana, and Jal Jeevan Mission have made it easier for women to access basic services such as clean toilets, LPG connections, and drinking water, which significantly improve their quality of life.
A Strong Call for Swadeshi Products
During his address, the Prime Minister also called for a nationwide focus on Swadeshi products. Drawing inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi's Swadeshi movement, PM Modi urged citizens to support locally made goods. This will not only boost local industries but also contribute directly to India's development by keeping money within the country.
Conclusion: A Progressive Future for Madhya Pradesh
The launch of these projects and campaigns underlines the government's commitment to building a developed, self-reliant, and inclusive India. PM Modi’s speech resonated with the idea of nation-building through empowerment, especially focusing on women, youth, and farmers. His vision for the future of India hinges on fostering skills, improving healthcare, and boosting economic opportunities for all citizens.
