PM Modi's Mega Development Tour: Over ₹71,000 Crore Boost for Northeast and Bihar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a power-packed three-day tour from September 13th to 15th, 2025, covering five states: Mizoram, Manipur, Assam, West Bengal, and Bihar. This visit will see the launch of a massive wave of development projects worth over a staggering ₹71,000 crore, focusing on boosting connectivity, infrastructure, industry, and the daily lives of citizens across Eastern and Northeastern India.
Get ready for a whirlwind of development as Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicks off a three-day, five-state visit this week. From September 13th to 15th, the Prime Minister will be travelling across Mizoram, Manipur, Assam, West Bengal, and Bihar to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for a series of transformative projects. For the first time ever, Mizoram's capital will be connected to the national railway network. PM Modi will inaugurate the landmark Bairabi-Sairang New Rail Line, a project worth over ₹8,070 crore. This engineering marvel, built through challenging hilly terrain, will make travel and transport of goods faster and cheaper.
To celebrate this milestone, he will also flag off three new express trains:
Additionally, projects worth over ₹9,000 crore, including key road bypasses, an LPG bottling plant, a Khelo India sports hall, and modern residential schools, will be launched to boost the state's economy and infrastructure.
The focus in Manipur is on holistic and sustainable development. The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for projects worth over ₹7,300 crore in Churachandpur. These include major urban road and drainage improvements, five new National Highway projects, and the Manipur Infotech Development (MIND) project.
Later in Imphal, he will inaugurate projects worth more than ₹1,200 crore, including a new Civil Secretariat, an IT SEZ building, Manipur Bhawans in Delhi and Kolkata, and the unique all-women Ima Markets in four districts.
On the evening of the 13th, the Prime Minister will participate in the 100th birth anniversary celebrations of the legendary Bharat Ratna, Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, in Guwahati.
The development agenda continues on the 14th, with projects worth over ₹18,530 crore.
In Kolkata, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the prestigious 16th Combined Commanders’ Conference-2025. - In Golaghat: A major step towards clean energy, the Assam Bioethanol Plant at Numaligarh Refinery will be inaugurated. The foundation stone for a new Polypropylene Plant will also be laid, giving a big boost to the state's petrochemical sector.

- Mega Power Project: The foundation stone will be laid for a massive 3x800 MW thermal power project in Pirpainti, Bhagalpur-the state's largest private sector investment worth ₹25,000 crore.
- New Trains & Rail Lines: The Prime Minister will flag off a new Vande Bharat Express between Jogbani and Danapur, two Amrit Bharat Express trains, and inaugurate and lay the foundation for critical new rail lines to improve connectivity across the state.
- Boost for Dairy Farmers: The inauguration of a state-of-the-art Sex Sorted Semen Facility in Purnea will help dairy farmers increase their income by ensuring a higher probability of female calf births.
