Overview of the German Chancellor’s India Visit
The Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany concluded a high-impact visit to India on January 12–13, 2026, marking a decisive moment in India–Germany bilateral relations.

India and Germany signed a Joint Declaration of Intent on Defence Industrial Cooperation, aimed at:
- Joint defence manufacturing

This move supports India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Germany’s focus on secure defence supply chains.

Launch of India–Germany CEO Forum
A Joint Declaration of Intent was signed to establish a CEO Forum, integrated into the Joint India–Germany Economic and Investment Committee, to:
