Youth Are India's 'ChangeMakers' for Viksit Bharat: Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal

Union Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, an alumnus of DHS Kanoi College in Dibrugarh, inaugurated new facilities, including a fitness centre and a science building. He urged the youth to be "ChangeMakers" and lead India's transformation into a 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047, emphasising the importance of holistic development through education, fitness, and innovation during this crucial 'Amrit Kaal' period.

Sonowal Urges Youth to Be 'ChangeMakers' for Viksit Bharat

Dibrugarh: Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, recently returned to his alma mater, the historic DHS Kanoi College in Dibrugarh, with a powerful message for the students. He urged the youth to step up as "ChangeMakers" and become the driving force behind India’s journey to becoming a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India) by 2047.

The event, held under the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS), saw the inauguration of several new facilities: a modern fitness centre, a clean drinking water facility, and the Dr. Yogiraj Basu Memorial Science & Technology Building. These projects, according to the minister, represent a holistic approach to education that prioritises intellectual, physical, and emotional growth.

The Role of Youth in 'Amrit Kaal'

Addressing the students, Sonowal said the strength of the nation rests in the hands of its young people. He highlighted that they have a unique opportunity during this 'Amrit Kaal' - a term for the next 25 years leading to India's 100th year of independence - to be agents of transformation. By embracing knowledge, fitness, and responsible living, the youth can help turn India into a self-reliant and developed country, a vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

He also emphasised the connection between health and nation-building. "Yoga is not just exercise, it is a way to achieve balance and clarity in life," he said, encouraging students to live responsibly and contribute to society with greater strength.

Opportunities for Innovation and Leadership

Shri Sonowal pointed out that the era of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' (Self-Reliant India) has created unprecedented opportunities for innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership. He encouraged the students to rise to the occasion and actively participate in shaping the new India.

The minister's message resonated with the government's vision of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’ (Together, for everyone’s growth, with everyone’s trust, and everyone’s effort). He stated that this vision can only be realised if the youth remain at the forefront of development.

The event, attended by several local dignitaries, also featured cultural and academic performances by the students, leaving the minister "deeply inspired by their creativity and energy." He concluded by urging the youth to carry forward India’s traditions of resilience and innovation while staying true to the values of compassion and service.
