Amit Shah Inaugurates Key Projects in Assam, Lauds PM Modi's Northeast Vision; Slams Opposition's "Shameful" Language

Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurates key projects in Assam, hails PM Modi's transformative impact on the Northeast, and strongly condemns opposition's use of abusive language.

GUWAHATI, AUGUST 29, 2025: In a significant event aimed at boosting security and infrastructure in the region, Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for eight projects worth ₹322 crore in Guwahati, Assam, today. The event, attended by Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, highlighted the central government's continued focus on the development of the Northeast.

Boosting Security and Governance

The key highlight of the new projects is the establishment of the National Cyber Forensic Laboratory (NCFL) in Guwahati. This is only the second such facility in India after Delhi. Shah explained that this lab will be crucial in protecting citizens of all eight Northeastern states from cybercrime, safeguarding their hard-earned money. It will also play a vital role in strengthening national security by combating the use of the dark net for narcotics, arms smuggling, and infiltration.

Additionally, Shah inaugurated the new 'Brahmaputra Wing' at the Raj Bhavan. Built at a cost of over ₹40 crore, this 3,300-square-meter facility is designed to host constitutional activities, recognize talented students and artists, and serve as a bridge for dialogue between the Governor's office and the state government.

Praise for PM Modi's Northeast Transformation

In his address, Amit Shah delivered a strong endorsement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. He stated that the last 11 years have been a "golden period" for the Northeast, marked by unprecedented peace and development.

"Whenever the history of the Northeast is written, these 11 years of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's governance will be inscribed in golden letters," Shah said.

He credited PM Modi for transformative changes across India, from strengthening internal and external security to lifting 25 crore people out of poverty and providing basic amenities like housing, electricity, and healthcare to millions.

Strong Condemnation of the Opposition

The Home Minister's speech took a sharp political turn as he strongly condemned the main opposition party for what he called "negative politics of hatred and contempt."

Shah specifically referenced a recent event in Bihar where a leader allegedly used abusive language against PM Modi's late mother. He called this act "the most despicable" and a new law in Indian politics.

"The people of India can never tolerate such abusive words... there cannot be further degradation in politics and public life," Shah asserted. He demanded a public apology from the opposition leader to the Prime Minister, his mother, and the citizens of India.

Shah concluded by affirming that such negative politics would be rejected by the people, who he said are solidly behind PM Modi's vision of a developed and secure India.
