At a high-profile AI Summit in Washington, US President Donald Trump delivered a strong message to tech giants like Google and Microsoft: stop hiring foreign workers, especially from India and China, and prioritise American jobs.
Trump criticised the tech industry’s "globalist mindset," accusing companies of exploiting American freedoms while outsourcing jobs and stashing profits abroad.
"Many of our largest tech companies have reaped the blessings of American freedom while building factories in China, hiring workers in India, and stashing profits in Ireland," Trump said. "Under President Trump, those days are over."
Three New AI Executive Orders Signed
Alongside his tough talk, Trump signed three key executive orders to reshape America’s AI landscape:
1."Winning the Race" AI Strategy – Accelerates US AI dominance by fast-tracking data centres and cutting red tape for infrastructure.
2. Ban on "Woke" AI – Companies receiving federal AI funding must ensure tools are politically neutral, not influenced by diversity policies.
3. Boosting US-Made AI Exports – Supports homegrown AI development to compete globally.
Trump also mocked the term "artificial intelligence," saying, "It’s not artificial - it’s genius!"
