The high-stakes journey includes stops in Ghana, Trinidad & Tobago, Argentina, Brazil, and Namibia, running from July 2nd to July 9th, 2025.

Strengthening African Alliances in Ghana

The first stop on this significant tour is Ghana, where the Prime Minister will be hosted by President H.E. John Dramani Mahama. India views Ghana as a vital partner in the Global South, playing a crucial role in both the African Union and ECOWAS. The visit, scheduled for July 2nd-3rd, is set to deepen historical ties and explore new opportunities in critical sectors like investment, energy, health, security, and capacity building. A highlight will be the Prime Minister's address to the Parliament of Ghana, a testament to the shared democratic values between the two nations.

Rejuvenating Kinship in Trinidad & Tobago

From Ghana, Modi will travel to the vibrant Republic of Trinidad & Tobago on July 3rd-4th. This leg of the tour carries deep historical and cultural significance, marking 180 years since the first Indians arrived on the islands. Meetings are scheduled with President H.E. Mrs. Christine Carla Kangaloo, who was recently the Chief Guest at Pravasi Bhartiya Divas, and Prime Minister H.E. Mrs. Kamla Persad-Bissessar, who has just begun her second term. The tour then makes a significant leap to Latin America, with the Prime Minister's arrival in Buenos Aires. This visit to Argentina marks a truly historic moment – the first bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister in 57 years! Argentina is recognized as a key economic partner and a close G20 collaborator. Discussions with President H.E. Following Argentina, the Prime Minister will head to Rio de Janeiro for the much-anticipated BRICS Summit on July 6th-7th. As a founding member, India reaffirms its commitment to BRICS as a crucial platform for cooperation among emerging economies, advocating for a more peaceful, equitable, and democratic multipolar world. Beyond the Summit, Modi will engage in bilateral meetings with several world leaders. The tour will then transition to Brasilia for a bilateral State Visit – another first for an Indian Prime Minister in nearly six decades. This stop aims to strengthen the close partnership with Brazil and collaborate with President H.E. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on advancing the priorities of the Global South.

Forging a New Roadmap in Namibia

The final destination of this extensive tour is Namibia, a trusted partner with a shared history of struggle against colonialism. The Indian Prime Minister looks forward to meeting President H.E. Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah to chart a new roadmap for cooperation that benefits the peoples and regions of both countries, as well as the wider Global South.
